This app keeps sending me push notifications at 2:30 in the morning... Every freaking morning. I cant figure out how to turn them off, so I am deleting it. Otherwise its a decent app. Kills a few minutes here and there. Just wish I could turn off these stupid notifications...
Many common words (e.g. "realtor") are not recognized. Unacceptable for a word game.
Pretty decent, the instructions are weak. Keeps you occupied.
It would be great to be able to know what your own high score was per round. That way you could try to beat yourself.
When an application asks me if I want to push messages I always select cancel. Word Science is continuing to send pop-up messages telling me, multiple times a day, to play their game. Sorry, I dont accept that. Your game is deleted.
This is a fun game, but you have to be a quick thinker to score well.
Not so much a game as a level from a game; theres no advancement, no goals, no achievements - no nothing. A single level. The scoring system is so badly out of balance that you can work hard for 30 points and moments later use a power up and get 10,000. Dont waste your time on this.
I love the game itself because I love word and speed games. However, I am getting frustrated because I cant figure out how the words are scored! The instructions do not give enough information.
Like another reviewer wrote, Im deleting this app because I cant figure out how to turn off push notifications. It is always sending me push notifications, all the time. Games are supposed to be fun to play not annoying. I havent even played this game because every time I start to play it, it sends me a push notification. Developers, if you want your game to be played make it good to start with so people will want to play it, so you dont have to send push notifications.
This app is a great idea poorly executed. The most annoying thing is there is no audible warning if you try to enter an invalid word. If you "fat finger" a letter you wont know it until youve overfilled the word space and by that time you may have wasted several good words, all lined up behind that one mistake. Maddening! It would be nice if there was a special sound when you tried to enter a word that was invalid. Maybe next revision...
Menus are poor, design of game seems worn and done before. Not addicting- will folder and wont look for again
the game is crooked - written to lower your score. put "SQUAS" on the board, and suddenly, mysteriously, inexplicably, there are no Hes on the conveyor anymore. how odd! or it would be if it didnt happen over and over and over. The coin reward is the same - 150 - whether you score 10,000 points or 10 million. and, as another reviewer pointed out, the game doesnt recognize some common words, including "realtor". meh.
The tutorial starts by showing you the various power ups. I exited that stage with a very high score and it was soon clear it could only be beaten with more power ups. However, unless you intend to dump cash in, that doesnt seem to be the primary way to play the game. Depressing being unable to match your score from the tutorial. Also, scoring is totally non-sensical: the reward for speed is so great that putting together big words feels punishing more often than not. Quickly putting in the most basic words you can is much more efficient than actually challenging yourself to do some word science, not so fun.
